Happy Birthday

Today is my sons birthday, he is the youngest of four, 11 years young today. The other three are my girls that range in age from 17 to almost 31. All four were born on the 29Th. Different months but not a number to be overlooked. I saw this tin 29 sign at the Sunday market and I think I yanked it out of someones hand while saying, Hey that's my number. Oh and I baked a cake.

Boxes

Oh the truth is coming out and I' am the one telling it. About myself. Another collection to confess, boxes. I will show one for now, the vintage Girl Scout cookie sale box. I have a room called what else, the box room. When I can get in there I will show you more.

21 st Century

We are in the 21 st Century, I' am driving a Ford powered by ancient fossil fuel. Where the hell is my flying car. Buck Rogers had one 70 years ago. At $3.50 a gallon for fuel I think we should have nuclear powered vehicles or goats pulling us around in wagons. I' am at home remembering when you could get somewhere on a dollars worth of gas. I think I will go for a walk.

Homeless Cat

This cat makes the rounds in my neighborhood. I have not seen it in about a month. Low and behold I saw it drinking water from a planter behind my house. I went inside and got some turkey. The cat was plenty happy to receive that, although it really likes a little tuna. Besides being homeless I don't think it can hear, but it can see real good and I have never been able to get too close to it. It will however sit below my porch and as long as I sit there it will stare at me, I did this for about 30 minutes before I moved on. Was nice to see it was OK.

My Own Army

What the heck, anything to sell for us junkers is OK today. There was a time when I would only buy things that I liked or thought were marvelous. Bottom line is not heirloom but fashion. I was loading my van with these male mannequins and a guy walked buy and said, are you making your own army. I replied the army was already here, I am just giving them a ride. Have Mannequins Will Travel.

Crazy

A good portion of the population should have to dress like this just so we can sway away when we see them in our path. There was a scene in a Rambo movie where an Afghanistan gentleman said, God loves crazy people - that's why he makes so many of them. I think I will be spending a lot more time by myself, behind locked doors.

Laundry Again

It was a simple task. To do laundry for the Virginia, what a pleasure I love her so. It was a weird day for sales at the Fremont Sunday Market however. On the flip side the same people will shell out a whole lot for Fred Meyer and their competition. It All ended with, rain and if I were you I would not ask Virginia, do you need tax.

Racing Poodle

Here is the Poodle Mason rode until he was a few years old. Before he could walk he would fly by me on this thing at great speeds for a ten month old, much to my horror. Towards the end of his Poodle racing career He would kick start his Poodle and rev up the handle grip and then he was off with his own motor noise. I have since added a racing burro to my office collection and hope to find more of these 1960's ride on toys.

Pink Elephants

Uh Oh I think I should have refrained, there are pink elephants in the midst. But its OK they are cute and I think I will just carry on. A trip to the monsoon room might be in order, I always enjoy the walk. No company tonight, many of us know what Billy Pilgrim said.

Washing Dishes

This is what I see while washing dishes. A collection of kitchen gadgets, many on their original display cards. Bakelite handles on kitchen items also a favorite. After doing dishes I sometimes rearrange, add to or change what is there. I have had a quite day, until The Mighty and Powerful Virginia showed up after a full day of auction buying. She gets pretty excited when she scores some new junk. She can be so cute. My computer is set up in my home office where I can see out of a second story window, the rain, the neighbors dog who likes to bark, and passers by that like to stare up at this block of almost 120 year old houses. Well now it is faze 2 of lumpy gravy, what to make for dinner.

Today We

Today we moved a ton of crap into the Sand point Antique and design show with help from the very nice Mary, not the Madonna. All in all it was a very peaceful day. When back in our neck of the woods we had a nice dinner at the Wow. A little television and then I went home for a van reload. At 8:30 I was done and Now at 9:00 I am really done.

Beaver

Well a guy at pretty much any age likes a little beaver once in a while. Wait a second I just put on my glasses and I'm pretty sure it would have been a fight, That hairy little animal is a raccoon. I was out with the girls this evening and I always have carpenter thoughts afterwords. All in all it was a fair trip to our favorite dive for food and drinks.
